Each interaction with our patients really does matter
We received the following letter from Lily, whose husband Cesar is battling the effects of Primary Progressive MS with bravery and determination.
Dear Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital,
When I think about the wonderful care my husband receives at your facility, it always brings me tears of happiness.
Ever since Cesar was diagnosed, his arms and legs progressively became weaker, limiting his mobility and leading to many falls and injuries.
But under your care, he is regaining the strength and energy he hasn’t felt in years. I love to see his renewed confidence, which eases my fears for his safety and gives me peace that I can never repay.
Supporting and driving my husband is a great care team, especially these individuals:
Lisa in Occupational Therapy improved his balance, simplified his transfers and helped us get his powered chair. More importantly, Lisa’s compassion gave us all hope for a better future with MS. She let us know that his quality of life is as important to her as it is to us.
Lindsay and Monica in Physical Therapy exercised Cesar hard but with an encouraging tone. Whenever he heard Lindsay exclaim, “Whoo hoo!” he knew she was pleased with his hard work. Monica emphasized a positive attitude, which has helped in more ways than she can imagine.
The Tech Team is the cherry on top of the amazing therapy team. They worked hard to ensure Cesar could work out on excellent equipment in a safe environment.
Finally, the ladies at the front desk always greeted Cesar with “Good morning, Cesar, I have checked you in.” It’s so nice to feel welcomed and wanted. It makes a huge difference in our overall experience at the facility.
The effort and energy your team brings to work changed my husband's life. He looks forward to his therapy days at your facility, a place where he feels seen and valued.
Our entire family is grateful for your care and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
